Posted on October 30, 2017 at 11:35 pm

If you have existing web marketing employers, it’s inevitable that you are going to want to expand your team at some point. How does a web marketing team grow? What is the strategy for making sure your team is moving in the right direction?

There is no right or wrong way to grow your team. However, there are some important functions you need to ensure you are fulfilling. Some of the most important are:

  • Design
  • SEO
  • Strategy
  • Copywriting
  • Link strategies
  • Account management
  • PPC
  • Social media

Some members of staff will be able to fulfil multiple functions, for example, you may have an account manager who is the main contact for SEO. When thinking of ways to grow your team, look for people who are right for your organisation and who will fit in. Then, see how you think they will be able to contribute skills wise. Staff retention is really important for a successful team.

Should you Get a Brochure Website?

Posted on August 5, 2017 at 9:36 am

Brochure websites aren’t used to sell directly. They are use to present a business, product or service, making it searchable online and helping new customers to find it. Many businesses now choose to have a brochure website if their product does not fall into the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) category, as it can help to make them more competitive.

A business that provides a service rather than selling a specific product may be the kind of business to have a brochure site. It will help to boost their reputation so that more potential customers can find them. It is now the expectation that most businesses will have a website so even if a company doesn’t operate in the kind of sector where new customers find them online, they may decide to have a website anyway. Talk to a web designer to see what they can do and if a website will be suitable for you.

Posted on March 7, 2017 at 3:25 pm

A new website will look great and can really help you to bring in new business. The hard work doesn’t stop there though. A website requires lots of ongoing work to make sure it stays up to date and to make sure people know about it. Here are some of the things you should consider for your website:

  • Branding. Make sure it is consistent across your whole site. People need to know it is you, and you need to be memorable.
  • Good copy. A well-written copy will help people to know what you do and will help you to achieve more conversions. Don’t cut corners with your copy.
  • Search engine optimisation. This is the best way to make sure your customers can find your website. It will help your website to appear higher on search engine results pages.
  • Pay per click marketing. As another way to get people onto your website, pay per click will generate leads and make sure your name is known.

Why is a Responsive Design so Important?

Posted on November 30, 2016 at 10:54 pm

Having a responsive website design has always been important, but now it is a top priority. Why is that? There are lots of different reasons, all of which are equally important and mean that your website will be held back if it isn’t mobile-friendly. If you are having a new website designed, it’s so important that you make it fully responsive. Here are some of the many reasons why:

  • Good user experience. People who are searching using devices like tablets and smartphones will be able to enjoy the same user experience as someone using a tablet or desktop computer. This is essential – you want to ensure that all of your customers come away from your website feeling positive about it, having found everything they want.
  • Mobile search is on the up. The number of searches carried out on mobile devices is always increasing. You need to make sure that your website can be used by this enormous section of the market.
  • People want to search anywhere, at any time. We are now used to living in a society where we can access the internet at all times. People won’t wait. If they want to search for something on the go, they will. Make sure that if these people come across your website, they will be able to navigate it simply.
  • It will save you having to change your website so dramatically in the future. Responsive design will help ensure your website’s longevity, keeping it modern and relevant to today’s consumers.
  • You can achieve more sales. People who like your website and find it easy to use are much more likely to spend money on it. If they find what they’re looking for quickly and you present yourself as a reputable brand, you are going to achieve conversions.

Relocating for a job in IT

Posted on September 28, 2016 at 9:29 pm

If you are in the process of looking for a new job or career in IT then you may have to look a bit further a field than your home town. This is especially true if you are looking for a very specific job with the IT industry.

It may be that you have to consider relocating for a job in order to get the role you want to.

When looking to relocate you need to ensure that the job is right for you and possibly even look for alternative companies near by that you may be able to approach if the first job doesn’t work out. Many people relocate to a city where there are more job prospects. If you have previously lived in the country this can be a huge change especially if you have a family and they will also be relocating schools / nursery etc.

It may be worth travelling to the job for a while (if possible) before relocating to ensure that you are going to be happy.
